Under the leadership of HM the King, Morocco’s international leadership is “undeniable” (Former President of the Peruvian Congress)
Lima – Morocco’s leadership on the international scene, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, remains “indisputable”, thanks in particular to its proactive diplomacy and its economic growth, affirmed the former president of the Congress of Peru, Martha Chavez.
In a statement to MAP on the occasion of the celebration by the Moroccan people of the 25th anniversary of the accession of HM the King to the Throne of His glorious ancestors, Mrs. Chavez praised the efforts made by Morocco on the international scene and its fruitful diplomatic rapprochement with Latin America, the Kingdom being an observer member in particular of the Andean Community of Nations. She also specified that Morocco’s diplomatic efforts have positively impacted the evolution of the Moroccan Sahara issue within the United Nations, highlighting the multiple initiatives led by the Kingdom in favor of conflict prevention and resolution. In this context, Mrs. Chavez emphasized Morocco’s “proactive diplomacy” in the service of peace, development and the prosperity of peoples, emphasizing the leadership role of HM the King in this diplomatic dynamic. Beyond this international projection, the Sovereign has launched, since his inauguration, major projects in the field of infrastructure, she noted, citing among others the port of Tangier Med, which illustrates, according to the former Peruvian official, a “relevant economic management”. Mrs. Chavez also recalled having recently visited the construction site of the new port of Dakhla, “a formidable work” which adds to the multiple structuring projects launched in the southern provinces of the Kingdom. The substantial investments in the southern provinces, she said, also represent a contribution of the Kingdom to the development of the entire Sahel-Saharan region, a dynamic embodied by the Atlantic Initiative of His Majesty the King, aimed at making this maritime facade “a space of peace and progress”.
