The psychiatric consultant confirmed that the following symptoms are among the symptoms of trauma:
– Psychological symptoms
Symptoms of PTSD include intrusive memories, nightmares, difficulty concentrating, feeling disconnected from reality, depression and anxiety, loss of interest in beloved activities, feelings of guilt and shame, and difficulty regulating emotions.
– Physical symptoms
Severe physical symptoms include headaches, sleep disturbances, fatigue, loss of appetite, and muscle pain.
– Behavioral signs
Behavioral signs of trauma, isolation from others, and drug and alcohol abuse are evident.
Tips for overcoming trauma
Jaber offered some advice on overcoming trauma, including:
– Seeking help from a doctor, because psychotherapy is the best way to overcome trauma.
– Social support helps to feel comfortable and belong by spending time with family and close friends, and joining support groups.
– Follow a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep, which helps improve physical and mental health.
– Practice deep breathing exercises, meditation and yoga.
– Patience, as it can take a long time to recover from trauma.
