Underwater bodies can be found; K-9 fighter team to take off

by time news

Dubai Police has set up a dog unit to find bodies under water and use helicopters to carry out rescue operations in difficult areas.

K-9 dogs are specially trained to find missing persons and sniff out hidden drugs and explosives. They are also used to find people trapped in the rubble of buildings destroyed by earthquakes.

Major Salah Al Masroui, director of the K9 security department of Dubai Police, said that the dog force helps in finding and extracting the bodies of drowned people.

Police dogs are trained to detect infectious patients and those suffering from chronic diseases. K-9 skills will be showcased at the World Police Summit on March 7-9. The UAE has proved that the Cavalry Force can detect the Covid-affected passengers during the peak of the Covid epidemic.

The main challenge is that high temperatures can seriously affect the health and performance of dogs. Ways to overcome this will be discussed at the World Police Summit. The summit will also discuss the development of cost-effective security measures in the face of increasing security threats.
