Registered unemployment in the country decreased to 5.3% in June. This was reported by the Employment Agency (EA), from where they report that this is 0.1 percentage points lower compared to May.

At the end of June, there were 150,990 unemployed people registered in the labor offices. Their number decreased by 3,281 people compared to the previous month.

Unemployed citizens who started work in June were 2,423 less than a month earlier. 428 pensioners, students and employed have also started work with the support of the labor offices, according to AZ. A new 19,796 unemployed people registered at the labor offices, which is 7.7% more than in May. Another 2,820 people from the groups of jobseekers employed, students and pensioners also registered at the labor offices. This group saw a decrease compared to the previous month in the demand for AZ services by 596 people.

As a result of the work of the Roma and youth mediators, as well as of the labor mediators in the labor offices, more than 4,380 persons inactive on the labor market were activated in June, AZ also indicates. The largest number of vacancies are in the sphere of processing industry (27.3%), public administration (13.7%), trade (12.1%), education (10.2%), hotel and catering (8, 6%). Among the most sought-after occupations are staff caring for people; personnel employed in the field of personal services; machine operators of stationary machinery and equipment; drivers of motor vehicles.

The representatives of the risk groups who found their employment in June through subsidized jobs are 3,072. In June, 10,945 vouchers were issued for the employed and unemployed for digital training under the project “Component 2: Training for DI-GI skills and competences” under The National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Earlier today, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced that AZ has started accepting applications for free training with vouchers for unemployed and inactive citizens.
