On the eve of International Mother Language Day / 21 February / Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization / UNESCO / Irina Bokova called on the international community to pay attention to endangered languages, to protect cultural and linguistic diversity in order to promote social development based on on the principles of equality and tolerance.
