União ABC started the São Paulo Junior Under-20 Football Cup with a defeat. This Thursday (4), at Arena Barueri, in the first round of the group stage, the Campo Grande team faced Oeste-SP and ended up losing 3-0.
Without scoring in Group 24, União ABC will face the current two-time Copinha champion, Palmeiras, in the next round. In the second round, Sunday (7), at 7pm (MS).
At Arena Barueri, Oeste opened the scoring after six minutes. Joadson opened on the left for Nycollas. The number 11 had space to clear the play and, from the edge of the area, hit the goal. The ball even deflected off Léo Chrispim and took goalkeeper Marcos André out of the play.
In the second, at eight minutes, the São Paulo team expanded. Hytalo passed Léo Pimentel into the area, but Léo Chrispim made the partial cut. The ball was cleared for Nycollas to hit Marcos André’s corner who, after some good saves, had no chance in this one.
In the 12th minute, Kayke advanced from the left and made a perfect cross for Lucas Alvim, free in the area, to head the ball into the goalkeeper’s corner and make it 3-0 for Oeste.
