jpnn.comBANDUNG – Andi Andriana, a student at Bale Bandung University, was the victim of a clash during a demonstration rejecting the revision of the Pilkada Law at the West Java DPRD Building, Jalan Diponegoro, Bandung City on Thursday (22/8).

As a result, Andi lost his left eye because he was hit by a stone that was allegedly thrown by officers.

Unibba Student President (Presma) Fauzi Septian said that the victim Andi had to undergo surgery on his left eye at the Cicendo Eye Hospital, Bandung City.

Andi is at risk of permanent blindness, because his eyeballs are quite badly damaged.

“In essence, whether he has surgery or not, Andi has lost one of his eyeballs. He has lost his vision or is blind. The result of the surgery, whether his eyeball is stitched or removed, is that Andi will lose his sense of sight or be permanently blind,” said Fauzi when confirmed, Saturday (24/8).

“If it can be stitched, yes, it will be stitched. If not, yes, it must be removed because according to the doctor, Andi’s eyes are destroyed,” he continued.

Fauzi added that the campus had responded to the incident experienced by Andi.

The campus, represented by the vice chancellor, faculty deans, and heads of study programs (kaprodi), has also visited Andi in hospital.
