New Delhi : Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made the priorities of the Modi government clear while presenting the Union Budget for the seventh consecutive time. The government has set a total of 9 priorities including agriculture, employment, manufacturing for this year as well as the coming years. This time a special focus has been placed on the youth in the budget. A PM package of 5 schemes worth Rs 2 lakh crore has been announced for them.

The Finance Minister has set a total of 9 priorities to achieve the goal of developed India by 2047. The government’s focus will be on these sectors. These 9 priorities are-

  • Agricultural productivity and strengthening of agriculture
  • Employability and skills
  • social justice
  • manufacturing and services
  • Urban Development
  • energy security
  • Infrastructure
  • Innovation, Research and Development
  • Next Generation Reforms

Under the 5 PM packages announced for the youth, Rs 2 lakh crore will be spent on 4.1 crore youth in 5 years. Employment and skills will be increased through this. A provision of Rs 1.48 lakh crore has been made in the budget this year for education, employment and skill development. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that special attention has been given to employment, skill development, MSME and middle class.

The Finance Minister said that for the first time, employment generation in the manufacturing sector will be encouraged through a scheme linked to employee employment. The scheme will provide incentives to employees and employers with respect to EPFO ​​contributions during the first four years of employment. It will benefit 30 lakh youth and will cover additional employment across all sectors. The government will reimburse employers EPFO ​​contributions up to Rs 3,000 per month for each additional employee for two years. The initiative aims to encourage additional employment of 50 lakh people.

The Finance Minister said that the government has extended the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for 5 years, which is benefiting 80 crore people of the country. Sitharaman said that as mentioned in the interim budget, there is a need to focus on the poor, women, youth and farmers.
