Karur: Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Zardos said that the Cabinet will take a decision on the railway fare concession for senior citizens.
Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Zardos inspected the Karur railway station today (February 28). Before the inspection, he planted a tree sapling at the entrance area of Karur railway station. Further investigation unit bought moringa soup and tasted it at a moringa stall located at Karur railway station under a station one item scheme. He then visited the women’s, men’s rest rooms and the observation room.

He then bought and tasted tea at the catering stall. He also bought tea for one person and paid the amount through Paytm. In this regard, it said to the press, “India has become the 5th economic country in the world by beating Britain after Corona. On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, 100 railway stations have been selected to be upgraded as city center railway stations under the Amrit Bharat scheme.
Karur railway station is one of them. During the Corona period, some senior citizens came forward on their own and gave up payment concessions. The Union Cabinet will decide on the rail fare concession for senior citizens. On the basis of developmental works, Vande Bharat trains are operated. The number of these will be increased from 12 to 75.

Also, the decision will be made considering various expenses including development of the railway station, transportation and administration. A separate app has been developed by IIT students to know what programs they need. Based on that, development projects will be planned on a priority basis,” he said. Minister Darshana Zardhos Swamy, who had earlier visited the Karur Pasupadeeswarar temple, had darshan. He was accompanied by former M.P. KP Ramalingam, BJP Karur District President VV Senthilnathan and others were present. BJP Karur District President VV Senthilnathan presented a petition to the Union Minister of State Darshana Zardos containing various demands including the extension of the Chennai Salem Express train to Karur.
