A new strike movement has shaken the judicial sector. The Democratic Union of Justice (SDJ) has recently announced a national strike that will affect all courts in the Kingdom. The strike will affect not only the centers of resident magistrates, but also the regional directorates as well as regional protection centers. The dates of this strike have been set in two different phases: August 27 to 29 and September 3 to 5.

The Democratic Union of Justice (SDJ) has announced a national strike in Morocco from August 27 to 29 and September 3 to 5. The strike aims to demand urgent reforms to the judicial sector, with a demonstration in Rabat on September 4.

In parallel with this action, the SDJ is organizing a demonstration in Rabat on September 4. The march will start from Place Mamounia in front of the Ministry of Justice and move towards the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The gathering aims to strengthen the visibility of the union’s demands and mobilize public opinion as well as political decision makers.

The aim of this protest movement is to have the demands of judicial sector professionals heard. SDJ is calling for the establishment of a fair and inspiring situation for employees, in line with the commitments made earlier with the Ministry of Justice. It also aims to draw the government’s attention to the implementation of the major concerns of justice officials, especially the improvement of the situation of court clerks.

This reform, which was the subject of an agreement in May 2023, has not yet been fully achieved, leading to growing frustration among judicial staff. The SDJ hopes that this mobilization will make it possible for professionals in the sector to advance the discussion and reach a satisfactory solution, while emphasizing the importance of a reform tailored to the needs of judicial personnel.
