The official inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Information, Decentralization and Territorial Administration, several high-ranking Comorian officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and UN agencies, as well as numerous local media outlets.
Equipped with the HMS+ program monitoring software solution, for which HACA holds the international intellectual property patent, this center installed at the headquarters of the independent media regulatory body, the CNPA in Moroni in Grande Comore, has been augmented with regional antennas on the islands of Mohéli and Anjouan. This is according to a press release issued by HACA.
A training session lasting several days was provided by Messrs Najib Bouzmarni and Adil Bourbate, managers within the HACA Information Systems Department, to enable CNPA teams to effectively utilize this powerful program monitoring tool.
Prior to the inauguration of this monitoring center, a cooperation agreement was signed by the presidents of the Moroccan and Comorian regulatory authorities.
Under this agreement, the future partnership between HACA and CNPA will focus on:
– Organizing expert missions and joint studies
- Exchanging experiences in improving regulatory tools and procedures
– Strengthening professional monitoring to enhance the regulator’s role in promoting human rights principles through the media and protecting the public from disinformation, hate speech, and other harmful practices that undermine democratic functioning.
