Another concert was held at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev within the framework of the XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, reports Day.Az with reference to Trend.
Under the leadership of the People’s Artist Yalchina Adigozalova and accompanied by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli (artistic director and chief conductor – Honored Artist Fuad Ibrahimov) soloists performed – the Cavatina quartet, Hyojin Ellen Kim (violin, USA), Nora Romanov Schwartzberg (alto, Austria).
Interestingly, a number of unique works were presented in Baku for the first time. Among them are the overture to Louis Spohr’s opera “Yessonda” (first production in Baku), concert for string quartet and symphony orchestra (first production in Baku), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Symphony-concertante for violin, viola and symphony orchestra Es dur (Op. 364), overture to the opera “Theater Director” (first production in Baku).
Let us remind you that from September 18 to 28, on the occasion of National Music Day, the XVI International Music Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, is being held. Within the framework of the festival, concerts, performances, exhibitions, scientific conferences and master classes are held, films are presented in Baku, Shusha, Ganja, Lankaran, Gabala, Nakhchivan and Shamkir, and various events are organized in cultural centers operating in foreign countries.
