On Friday, at the first meeting of the legislative assembly of the Primorsky Territory, the distribution of leading posts took place. A member of the United Russia faction, Alexander Rolik, who headed the previous Legislative Assembly, was elected Chairman of the Parliament.

During a secret ballot, 26 deputies voted for the candidacy of Mr. Rolik, and 14 for his only rival, the communist, Vladimir Bespalov.

Two United Russia members, Sergei Kuzmenko and Dzhambulat Tekiev, and the communist Anatoly Dolgachev were elected vice-speakers. Members of the United Russia faction became chairmen of five of the six parliamentary committees, only the committee on food policy and environmental management was headed by a member of the LDPR faction, Andrei Andreichenko.

Ten out of 40 deputies of the Primorye parliament are elected by party lists, the rest in single-mandate constituencies. As a result of the September elections, the United Russia faction included 23 deputies, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation — 14, A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice — one each.

In the parliament of Primorye convocation of 2016, the United Russia faction included 24 deputies, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation – 8, the Liberal Democratic Party – 5, A Just Russia – 1, the Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice – 1. At the end of the term of office, 39 out of 40 deputies had been elected.
