The United Russia party retained its constitutional majority, gaining 49.82 percent of the vote. This was announced by the Central Election Commission after processing all the final protocols of precinct commissions.

In second place is the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (18.93 percent), in third place is the LDPR (7.55 percent). In addition to the aforementioned parties, “Fair Russia – for the Truth” (7.46 percent) and “New People” (5.32 percent) also enter the State Duma on party lists. All of them overcame the electoral barrier of 5 percent. Three more parties nominated their single-mandate candidates to parliament – Rodina, Civic Platform and the Party of Growth.

Elections to the State Duma were held in Russia from 17 to 19 September. During the three-day voting, almost 2,000 polling stations were operating in the country. The turnout was 51.68 percent. “This is more than in the previous campaign,” said the head of the CEC, Ella Pamfilova, recalling that in 2016 the turnout was 47.88 percent.

These parliamentary elections were calm, orderly and aroused more interest among Russians than past ones. Violations have decreased, and cyberattacks on the CEC and other structures did not affect the expression of the will of citizens.
