The minister in charge of national education said that to make school feeding a reality in schools, it is primarily up to parents to take ownership. “We have an obligation to do everything to ensure that our children benefit from a healthy and nutritious meal at school if we want to improve their performance,” cited the Minister of National Education.

During the sessions, it was demonstrated that access to school feeding based on local purchases presents a vital investment in people’s futures as it will help combat food insecurity and malnutrition, increase in agricultural production but also the reduction of poverty at the community level thanks to the development of local economies, concluded Minister François Havyarimana.
