(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 31 – There are 20,867 new enrollments expected for the degree course in Medicine and Surgery for 2024-2025. Over 1,200 more than in the previous academic year. For the degree course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics there are more than 1,500 places. Almost 1,300 places for Veterinary Medicine. The Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, has signed decrees number 1.101 and 1.102 (-n-1102-of-29-07-2024) which establish the definitive places available for access to the single-cycle master’s degree course in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (Italian and English language) and Veterinary Medicine (Italian language), intended for candidates from EU and non-EU countries, resident in Italy and for candidates from non-EU countries resident abroad.
The places were assigned to the universities following the adoption of the Agreement of the Permanent Conference for the relations between the State, the Regions and the autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano for the determination of needs. For Medicine and Surgery, of the 20,867 places available, 19,467 are intended for candidates from EU countries and non-EU countries resident in Italy, while 1,400 are reserved for students from non-EU countries resident abroad. In the previous academic year, the places available for candidates from EU and non-EU countries resident in Italy were 18,331, while 1,305 registrations were available for candidates from non-EU countries resident abroad.
The new enrollments expected for the degree course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics are 1,535 of which 116 are reserved for candidates from non-EU countries residing abroad. Last year, 1,276 places were assigned to candidates from EU and non-EU countries residing in Italy and 110 places for candidates from non-EU countries residing abroad.
There are 1,272 places available for the degree course in Veterinary Medicine for 2024-2025. Of these places: 1,209 are for students from EU and non-EU countries resident in Italy and 63 are for candidates from non-EU countries resident abroad. This compares with 1,082 places in the previous academic year for candidates from EU and non-EU countries resident in Italy and 59 places for candidates from non-EU countries resident abroad.
As foreseen by the selection calendar for the degree courses with restricted access, yesterday, Tuesday 30 July, the second of the two tests was held for the single-cycle master’s degree courses in Medicine and Surgery and in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, taught in Italian.
Today, instead, the second admission test for the single-cycle degree courses in Veterinary Medicine. For Medicine and Surgery and Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics taught in English, the tests are scheduled for Tuesday 17 September 2024.
Aspiring doctors have until 3:00 p.m. on September 2, 2024 to express their preferences for universities for enrollment. The choice can be made through the appropriate online platform (https://accessoprogrammato.mur.gov.it/2024/).
The publication of the results in anonymous form is scheduled for August 8th and on August 28th the candidate can view his/her paper and his/her score. While the national merit ranking will be published on September 10th. (ANSA).
