Three policemen were shot by unknown assailants in Karachay-Cherkessia, Day.Az reports, citing Russian media.

According to information, an attack on a three-person SBI squad occurred in Karachaevsk in the area of ​​the local Lower Market at approximately 00:40 Baku time. The employees were on duty and were patrolling the territory when they came under fire from unknown bandits. As a result of the shootout, the deputy platoon commander and one of his subordinates died on the spot, another employee with gunshot wounds to the thigh and back is now in the hospital, doctors are fighting for his life. All of them had their service weapons stolen, as well as AKM assault rifles.

A “Siren” signal has been introduced throughout the republic and a gathering of personnel has been announced; a group of bandits is now being actively sought.
