Coconut Roll Waterfall

To reach this waterfall you have to travel from Kalakkadu bus station on the road leading to Talayanai. If you go back to the right-hand turning road below the pillow, you can go to Coconut Roll Falls via Sivapuram. Cars and two-wheelers can only go up to Sivapuram, and from there it is only a one-kilometer walk. There is also a path to this waterfall from Pacchiyar dam.

This waterfall has been declared a tourist spot and is under the control of the forest department. The vertical flow of this waterfall is unique.
There is only a rough mountain path to reach this waterfall without any proper trail. So those coming by vehicles have to park the vehicle in the car park before the falls and walk towards the falls to cross a river.
There is a lot of water here only during the monsoons. The water coming from the waterfall, people from surrounding districts and also from Madurai, Chennai, Trichy and Kerala come in large numbers to bathe with their families in Kannimaral Thoppu.
The forest department is running a small shop at the car park. There only snacks are available for boys and girls. The whole place is covered with banyan trees so it is comfortable to sit in the shade and dine with the family. Also changing room and toilet facilities are provided.
As this waterfall is located at the foot of the hill a little away from the town, people who go to Gutrabanjan waterfall buy food items on the way.

Atri Hill is located in the Western Ghats to the west of the Kadana Dam near Ambasamudram Alwarkurichi in Tirunelveli District.
If you go to Alwarkurichi from Tenkasi, the minibus goes up to two kilometers before the Kadananadi dam. From there you can either walk or take an auto from Adhwarkuri.
If the devotees go to the hill and come back, if they keep the auto driver’s phone number while leaving; When we start going down the hill, if we call, the auto will come and wait for us at the dam.
Only on special days on the mountain you will get free food in the afternoon, you have to finish your breakfast at Alwar Kochi, or you can buy a parcel and eat at the dam or inside the mountain, but plastic bags are not allowed inside the mountain, so plastic bags should be avoided.
There is a forest check post on the way. The forest department will keep an attendance register in which name, address, mobile number should be written and signed.

A narrow path up the hill is easy to walk and the rock-free path up to the temple is easy. There is an uphill path only when going near the temple.
The climb is also a dirt track with no rocks, hence slippery during rainy season. It takes two hours to climb the mountain and two hours to come down. Near it is a cave in a big rock. The Siddhas say that there is penance in it. So devotees worship in that cave by lighting a lamp.
After climbing the hill, both the Arulmiku Anusuya Devi and the Arulmiku Athrimahakarishi appear in the form of a linga in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
There is a cave where Goraka is believed to sit and do penance. It’s a sight to behold. It is also believed that sandalwood rain falls on the tree there on Chitra Poornami. Although going to Atri Hill is a spiritual journey, many people go there as tourists and stay there to bathe in the waterfalls and enjoy the beauty of the Kadananadi Dam.

Papanasam Agasthyar Falls is one of the popular tourist spots in Nellai district. Beyond the Shiva Temple at Papanasam comes the Kalakadu Mundanturai Tiger Sanctuary. From there the mountain path starts. As you walk along enjoying the green scenery on both sides, the left side is marked as Agasthya Falls. If you go on that route, there is a hydro power plant and a parking lot is set up near it.
A large number of monkeys can also be seen on the way down from the vehicle and on the way to the falls. Passing from there; Go to Agastya Falls.
Water falls here throughout the year. The water is very cold and smells of herbs. A large number of tourists from not only Nellai district but also from other districts of Tamil Nadu and neighboring states came to bathe in this and enjoyed bathing enthusiastically in the water pouring from the waterfall.
A barrier wall has been constructed so that female tourists and male tourists can bathe separately in Agasthiyar Falls. There is a separate area for women to change their clothes.

From Tirunelveli, a 3-hour drive through a narrow mountain pass with many needle bends, passing through Kallidaikurichi, Manimutthar Dam, Manimutthar Falls, reaches the scenic forested Mancholai at an altitude of 3500 feet on all four sides.
At an altitude of 1000 feet above that, places like Kakachi, Nalumku, Oothu, Khodveti, Kodaiyar (Upper Dam) are full of tea plantations and evergreen forests.
Mancholai is not a tourist destination, it is a protected area attached to the Mundantura Tiger Reserve, so there are no accommodation facilities for tourists. Visit in the morning and return in the evening. No permit is required for regular buses. If you want to go in your own car or hire car, you need to get permission from the Forest Department office at Ambasamudra.
Mini government buses ply four times a day from Tirunelveli New Bus Stand and 4 times a day from Papanasam.
You can get down from Nellai railway station and go to Mancholai via Kallidai Kochi. Those traveling by road can reach Kallidaikurichi and proceed from there. Some government buses ply from here.
If you climb the watch tower built near Mancholai Government School, you can enjoy the scenic mountain views from all sides. You can go to the horseshoe via blowing over the manjolai
