UNO: That’s why we played the deck wrong all along | life & knowledge

by time news

This card game has put friendships all over the world to the test!

UNO – invented in 1971 and sold millions of times to date – is great fun for young and old. If it weren’t for the card drawing rule…

What’s it about: The aim of UNO is to discard all cards as quickly as possible. But the deck contains a total of eight draw-two and four draw-four cards. Every player has certainly had the dubious pleasure of having to draw eight or even more cards. Because the people in front happily chipped in on the draw-two cards.

But wait, that’s not correct at all! We’ve been playing the card game wrong for decades. Now the UN has put its foot down on the hated rule.

On the microblogging service Twitter, the makers of the card game recently posted an absolutely tweet that is unmistakable: “Announcement from the top: It’s not allowed to put a two-draw card on top of another!” And then: “Go ahead, grill us.”

The UNO tweet has been shared more than 12,000 times – and the users are really spinning the wheel! “My whole life was a lie,” writes one of the followers angrily. Another says, “Do you have any idea the chaos you’re causing with this announcement?!”

In fact it says in the official UN regulations: “If this card is laid, the next player must draw two cards and may not discard any cards this round.” This also applies to the four-draw variant. Means: Pulling is compulsory!

Most players won’t care. Or, in the words of one Twitter user, “You don’t have a two-draw card, daughter? What a pity. THEN DRAW SIX! – My kids don’t have Twitter.”

That sounds like further trouble in the family and circle of friends…
