Maryam Nawaz said that Imran had tried his best to stay in power and begged the army to save his government.

He also sought the help of former President Asif Ali Zardari in the wake of the no-confidence motion against him, “said Mariam Nawaz, PML-N vice-president.

Mariam Nawaz was speaking at the Workers’ Convention in Lahore on Tuesday night.

But the military did not intervene in the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against the Imran Khan government or anything else related to it.

Imran Khan was ousted as prime minister on April 10 after failing to vote in a no-confidence motion. Nawaz Sharif’s brother and PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif has been sworn in as Pakistan’s prime minister.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif, currently in England, has been issued a new passport by the Shahbaz Sharif government in Pakistan. Until April 2032, the passport will be valid for ten years.

With this, Nawaz Sharif is expected to return to Pakistan soon.

Nawaz Sharif, 72, has been in London since 2019 on corruption charges in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif, who went to London for treatment, was unable to return home in the wake of corruption cases registered during the Imran Khan government.

According to Pakistani media reports, Nawaz Sharif is likely to return to Pakistan after Eid with a diplomatic passport.
