Hundreds of Toldot Aharon followers and others are protesting tonight (Wednesday) on Malkei Israel Street in Jerusalem against the cellular store, which sells telephones without a permit. In recent weeks, the place has become a major center of demonstrations by members of the ultra-Orthodox community.

Following the demonstration, the public transportation movement was stopped and many police forces arrived at the scene and confronted the Hasidim. One of the protesters was injured and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Earlier today, a special instruction and ad was issued in Hasidism, calling on the public to demonstrate. “When the instruction came out of our rabbis, to protest and warn to eradicate the lesions of the corrupting vessels from our camp, and it is certainly an important and necessary thing,” the ad reads.

The Israeli police said: “Police forces are currently operating following a protest against the cellular stores in the Geula neighborhood of Jerusalem. Dozens of demonstrators began blocking a traffic lane, violating the order with violence against the police and attempts to damage the store.”

The police added: “Following the violent protest, the public transportation movement was stopped and the police forces are now pushing back the violators. The Israel Police will continue to allow freedom of protest within the law, but we will not allow public disturbance and violent riots.”
