Unvaccinated people can go swimming again in Berlin

by time news

The Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (BBB) will be letting more visitors into the swimming pools again this Friday. The basis for this is the relaxation of the Infection Protection Ordinance passed by the Senate, the BBB announced on Thursday.

“Access will then no longer only be possible for those who have been vaccinated and/or those who have recovered, but also for everyone else – provided they can show a daily negative test or a PCR test not older than 48 hours,” says a press release from the state-owned company .

In addition, as a result of the easing, the quotas for the time windows would be increased noticeably. “This means that twice as many people can swim in most pools per time slot as before, depending on the structural conditions, the number can be even higher,” it continues.

The time windows themselves remained in place, as did the obligation to wear masks and keep your distance outside the pools. Tickets can be purchased online four days in advance. For days on which tickets are already on offer, further tickets would be offered at short notice. Part of the tickets will continue to be sold at the box offices at the beginning of the timeslot. In the message, the BBB appeals to the public at the swimming pool to behave responsibly despite the easing and to continue to comply with the obligation to keep distance outside the pool and the general infection protection measures.
