The high incidence of coronavirus in many countries has forced the authorities of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take new restrictive measures in the country. Residents not vaccinated against coronavirus will not be able to travel overseas, the national news agency WAM reported, citing the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

“In coordination with the National Administration for Emergency Situations, Crises and Disasters, all UAE citizens who were not vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines as of January 10 will be banned from traveling,” the agency said.

An exception will be made only for those unvaccinated citizens who, for medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated. Also, the travel ban will not apply in “humanitarian cases” and for those leaving for treatment.

In addition, the ministry announced the need for revaccination for previously vaccinated citizens.

As of December 31, 2426 cases of coronavirus were recorded in the UAE during the last day, two people died. Since the beginning of the pandemic, almost 762,000 infections have been recorded, 2,164 people have died.
