OnePlus Announces Release of New Flagship Device, the OnePlus 12
After months of rumors and reports, OnePlus has officially announced the release of its new flagship device, the OnePlus 12. The company promises it to be one of the most intriguing devices of the year.
The OnePlus 12 comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is expected to bring a significant performance upgrade. Additionally, the device features a 5,400 mAh battery with a charging rate of up to 100 watts in a wired connection and 50 watts in a wireless connection. OnePlus claims the battery is expected to retain 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.
The device boasts a 6.82-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. OnePlus also claims to have incorporated “medical-level” technology to protect the eyes and improve the quality of sleep.
In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 12 features a main camera with a 50-megapixel LYTIA series sensor from Sony, an extra wide lens with a 48-megapixel sensor, and a periscope lens with a 64-megapixel sensor. The device also includes a selfie camera with a 32-megapixel sensor.
Other specifications include a fingerprint scanner built into the display, an infrared transmitter to control the TV, and an upgraded vibration motor that the manufacturer claims is “the most powerful in the industry.”
The OnePlus 12 will be priced starting at about $600 for the basic model with 12 gigabytes of working memory and 256 gigabytes of file storage, and up to $820 for the model with 24 gigabytes of working memory and 1 terabyte of storage. The device will first launch in China, with a global release planned for next month.
