Minos Matsas is a very successful composer, lyricist, and producer. The career and life of Minos Matsas
He graduated from the Athens Conservatory and from the Juilliard School. In 1994, he composed his first cycle of songs titled A Thousand and One Nights Again, with lyrics by Akos Daskalopoulos. In 1995, four of his compositions were included in George Dalaras’s multi-collective album Welcome.
As a composer, he has worked on dozens of films, theatrical performances, and television programs. He has collaborated, among others, with director Costa-Gavras for the film The Parthenon, as well as on Aristophanes’ plays Birds and Peace, which were staged at the ancient theater of Epidaurus. He has also been awarded at the Thessaloniki Film Festival (for Eduart and Slaves in Their Chains). He also wrote the music for the movie The Dominator of the Game 3: Redemption (Undisputed III: Redemption, 2010).
In 2016, he musically dressed the original text of Wojciech by Georg Büchner, while in 2017 he released the soundtrack for Giannis Sakaris’s second feature film Amerika Square, based on the award-winning novella by Giannis Tsirbas The Victoria Does Not Exist.
