Low turnout in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls The turnout was 54.18 per cent. Voting took place in 54 constituencies in nine districts. A total of 613 candidates contested in the seventh phase. With this, the elections to five states were completed.
Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party has alleged irregularities in the voting machine in Sagdi constituency. The election here was delayed by about an hour. In Maldahi, Varanasi, the polls started 40 minutes late after the voting machine was switched off. EVM malfunction has been reported in several places. Earlier, polls were held in Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa. The result will come out at ten.
