At least 13 people, including women and children, have been killed in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh.
UP A wedding ceremony was held last night in Kushinagar district of the state. Those who attended the ceremony stood on the cement slab above the well. Then the spoof broke without bearing the burden. Those standing in it fell into the well. Of these, 13 died. 2 people were injured.
District Collector Rajalingam, who released the first information last night, said we have received information that 11 people were killed when the cement slab above the well collapsed during the wedding ceremony. The injured are being treated. He said the slab seems to be broken without bearing the load.
But shortly after, ATGP Akhil Kumar met reporters. He said the death toll had risen to 13.
In this situation, the district collector has announced that the families of the victims will be given compensation of Rs. 4 lakhs each.
Commenting on the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The news of the UP tragedy is very sad. I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims. I pray for speedy recovery of the injured.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences over the incident. He said last night, on his Twitter, to speed up the rescue efforts. He had ordered appropriate treatment for the injured.
The incident is being investigated.
