Lucknow: The gang rape incident in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh is becoming a thorn in the neck of Samajwadi Party. On one hand, after the strict stand of CM Yogi, bulldozer action is going on on the illegal property of accused Moin Khan. On the other hand, the government and BJP leaders have attacked Akhilesh Yadav regarding this incident. The resignation of SP MP Awadhesh Prasad from Ayodhya has also been demanded. Meanwhile, the politics of the state has heated up after SP chief Akhilesh Yadav posted a post related to getting the DNA test of the accused done. From BJP to former Chief Minister Mayawati, everyone has taken the SP chief to task. Mayawati said that how many DNA tests of the accused have been done in the SP government.
In fact, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has posted on his official Twitter account, in which he wrote that ‘People who are accused of misdeeds should be given DNA tests and a way of justice should be found. Politics should not be done by just making allegations. Akhilesh said that whoever is guilty should be given full punishment according to the law. But if the allegations are proved false after the DNA test, then the government officials involved should also not be spared. This is the demand of justice.
Told Akhilesh insensitive
BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi has accused Akhilesh Yadav of editing the post. Akhilesh has shared the news of a girl found soaked in blood in Varanasi with his post. BJP claims that Akhilesh later edited his post. On the other hand, even though Akhilesh Yadav has made this post citing the news from Varanasi, his post has heated up the politics of the state. Political parties are not only linking it to Ayodhya but are also claiming it. Rakesh Tripathi retweeted Akhilesh Yadav’s post and wrote that insensitive Akhilesh ji first tweeted, later realized that he had made a mistake and then edited it. But your intention has been exposed.
Mayawati hits back at Akhilesh
On the other hand, the matter of Akhilesh Yadav’s post became more heated when BSP supremo Mayawati also gave her reaction. Mayawati wrote on Twitter that ‘The strict action being taken by the UP government against the accused in the Ayodhya gang rape case is appropriate, but what should be understood by SP saying that the DNA test of the accused should be done. Mayawati said through the post that SP should also tell how many DNA tests have been done against such accused in their government.
The BSP supremo did not stop here, she wrote in her next post that the incidents of Ayodhya and Lucknow etc. are extremely sad amidst the growing concerns about crime control and law and order in UP, especially about women’s safety and harassment etc. It would be better if the government takes strict steps to prevent these by rising above caste-community and politics.
