Lucknow: The central government has given a big responsibility to senior IAS Govind Mohan, who has a special relationship with Uttar Pradesh. IAS Govind has been appointed as the next Union Home Secretary of the country. On Wednesday, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has issued an order in this regard. Along with this, the ACC has appointed IRS officer Rahul Naveen as the new director of the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED. Let us tell you, Govind Mohan will take over as Home Secretary after the completion of the tenure of the current Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla.
Actually, Senior IAS Govind Mohan is a 1989 batch Sikkim Cadre Indian Administrative Service IAS officer. He is a native of Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, Govind Mohan has studied 12th from St. Francis College, Lucknow in the year 1982. After this, from 1982-86, he studied Electrical Engineering from BHU IIT, Varanasi. Being good in studies, he has done PG in Management from IIM Ahmedabad from 1986 to 88. It is said that his father was the Chief Engineer in the PW department.
Govind Mohan played an important responsibility
Let us tell you, 1989 batch IAS Govind Mohan is one of those officers who do their work with honesty without coming into the limelight. Mohan has been on central deputation since 2017. He has been posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Culture since 2021. At the same time, getting the responsibility of the post of Union Home Secretary is being considered important in many ways. Govind Mohan will take over on August 22 after the completion of the tenure of 1984 batch Ajay Bhalla. Along with handling many important responsibilities during his tenure, he has also worked as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Home Ministry.
