The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that 7 individuals who were part of a criminal structure, who operated in the departments of La Libertad, La Paz and Sonsonate, were sentenced to up to 177 years in prison.
“The FGR obtained sentences of up to 177 years in prison for 7 subjects who were part of a criminal structure that operated in the departments of La Libertad, La Paz and Sonsonate,” the Prosecutor’s Office said in X’s post.
According to the statements provided by the FGR, the defendants are responsible for the following crimes: 5 aggravated homicides; Proposal and conspiracy to commit homicide; Aggravated theft and illegal associations.
“The convicted are former police officers and the sentences were imposed by the Fifth Court Against Organized Crime,” the FGR said.
The defendants are: Jose Concepcion Marin Lozano, 177 years in prison; Alfonso Antonio Alvarado Mejia, 25 years in prison; Jose Dionisio Hernandez Gamez, 84 years in prison; Oscar Saul Rodriguez Amaya, 30 years in prison; Santos Raquel Sarmiento Ayala, 23 years in prison and Jorge Adalberto Ayala Cruz, 25 years in prison.
