A significant salary increase will arrive in a few months.
The promise was kept. Many civil servants will receive, in a few months, a handsome bonus, in addition to their regular salary. Many professions will benefit from special understandings because, for these public representatives, the typical salary will vary from 1500 to 3900 euros, depending on the work done.
This award is part of the increase in activity in certain sectors due to the preparation of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the missions to be achieved throughout the month and a half of the competition. In return for their commitment, the State has decided to thank around 100,000 civil servants through additional payment. But not everyone will be able to claim the same amount.
In several terms, the management has defined the transactions which will be considered, and the amounts of the bonus. In reality, it is not a “JO bonus”, but an increase in the ceiling of the bonus “linked to professional commitment and way of serving”. Here’s who will get the value:
- Civil servants: up to 1500 euros
- State officials reporting to the general direction of civil aviation and public establishment Météo-France: 1,500 euros
- A person with an official status report to the Ministry of Defense: 1,500 euros
- Police and gendarmes: up to 1900 euros
- French Waterways employees: 2,700 euros
- Workers in parks and workshops: up to 3,900 euros
Please note, not all civil servants working in one of the above sectors will necessarily receive the award, or even the maximum amount. Only those who are “directly involved in the preparation and holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, or exposed to a significant increase in direct activity caused by changes in the organization linked to the games”, will be able to request this supplement wages. The amount received will be determined by the manager.
However, eligible people should not expect to receive the award once the Olympics are over. It will be paid only at the end of the year, during the last quarter. We do not know the exact date but the parties are counting on payment for the month of December.
