UP takes huge lead against Kerala in Ranji Trophy match

On the third day of the Ranji Trophy cricket match, Uttar Pradesh (UP) dominated over Kerala, taking a significant lead in the game. Kerala were all out for 243, giving UP a lead of 59 runs, after which UP played their second innings and ended the day with a lead of 278 runs.

In Kerala’s first innings, they started at 220/6 and lost the remaining four wickets, scoring 23 runs in nine overs with Ankit Rajput taking all four wickets, completing his five-wicket haul. In UP’s second innings, captain Aryan Juyal’s impressive century helped the team strengthen their position. Juyal remained unbeaten on 115 off 186 balls with four sixes and seven fours. Samarth Singh was dismissed with 43 runs, while Priyam Garg remained unbeaten with 49 runs. Kerala missed opportunities to dismiss Garg, allowing him to stay at the crease and add valuable runs.

In the first innings, Kerala lost the wickets of Shreyas Gopal, Jalaj Saxena, Basil Thampi, and Vysakh Chandran, with MD Nidhish remaining unbeaten at 15 runs. The game was called off due to lack of light around 4:30 pm.

UP’s strong performance puts them in a commanding position as the match progresses, leaving Kerala with a challenging task in the remaining days of the game.
