Tamil Nadu Finance Minister, Palanivel Thiagarajan, announced plans to establish TNTech cities in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Hosur during his presentation of the financial statement for 2023-24 in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The aim is to make Tamil Nadu a major hub in the IT industry globally. The government plans to set up TNTech city to meet the growing office infrastructure needs, including Information Technology, Global Capability Centers, Financial Technology, and Industrial Capability Centers, Industrial Parks, Business Centers, and Entertainment facilities. Additionally, Neo Tidel Parks will be set up in seven districts, and Information Technology Parks in Erode, Tirunelveli, and Chengalpattu, with an area of one lakh square feet each, generating employment for around 4,000 people.
