On Wednesday morning, problems with Salt services in Switzerland increased. Thousands of customers reported outages – both mobile communications and landline internet were affected. The problem is now solved, but the cause is still unclear.
Update as of October 2, 2024, 10:50 am: Salt services are back online after this morning’s outage. Upon request, the telco confirmed that there was “partial short-term disruption to Internet and mobile services”. This has now been resolved and all services are working again. The number of reports on the alletreib.ch portal has been decreasing again since around 9:30 am
However, the reason for the disruption remains unclear. Salt is working to determine the exact cause, the telco said. “However, we cannot provide any further information at this time.”
If you continue to have problems accessing the Internet, Salt recommends restarting your device. In most cases this can solve the problem.

In almost half of the cases reported there was an impact on the mobile Internet, in another third on the fixed Internet and 17 percent of the reports claimed complete failure.
The reason for the disruption is not yet clear. A related application to Telko is still pending.
