Almost all provinces in Indonesia have set and announced an increase in the regional minimum wage (UMP) for 2025, with varying amounts.
This decision was made based on the Minister of Manpower Regulation number 16 of 2024 regarding the Determination of the Minimum Wage for 2025. This regulation set the increase for UMP and the minimum regional wage (UMK) for 2025 at 6.5 percent from the previous year.
The government mandated that regional heads establish UMP by December 11,2024,and UMK by December 18,2024.However,as of December 12,2024,at 9:00 a.m., six provinces had yet to finalize their UMP by the due date. these provinces are Nusa tenggara Timur (NTT), Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), Sulawesi Utara, papua Barat, Papua Pegunungan, and Papua selatan.
