Uproar, Police Officer Arrested Carrying 2 Kg of Crystal Meth at the Port of Parepare City

MAKASSAR – The Archipelago Harbor Area Police (KPN), City of Parepare, South Sulawesi secured police officer with the initials HI. The police officer with the rank of Brigadier General was arrested for carrying drugs type of shabu.

HI, who also served as Bhabinkamtibmas at the Binuang Police, Polman Police, West Sulawesi, was carrying 2 kilograms of methamphetamine-type narcotics which were packed into two packets of green Chinese tea.

The illicit goods were brought from the Nunukan area, East Kalimantan to Nusantara Port, Parepare City, South Sulawesi, by sea using the Pantokrator motor ship.

The arrest of this police officer began when a joint team of personnel from the KPN Polsek and Customs and Excise Branch of Parepare led by the KPN Kapolsek Iptu Sukri Abdullah carried out routine service and inspection activities for passengers and their luggage when they got off the Pantokrator motor ship.

However, during the inspection the officers arrested one of the passengers who was proven to be carrying two kilograms of methamphetamine which was hidden in his backpack.

The police then took the passenger to the KPN Police Headquarters for safekeeping. From the results of the officer’s examination, the passenger was a member of the police on duty in West Sulawesi.

Brigadier HI was then taken to the South Sulawesi Regional Police Headquarters, and has now been secured in a special room for the South Sulawesi Regional Police Bid Propam. Meanwhile, the South Sulawesi Regional Police have coordinated with the West Sulawesi Regional Police.
