UPRONA celebrates its 61st anniversary in Gitega and the reunification of its factions

Celebration of the 61st anniversary of UPRONA: An event also marking the reunification of the detached wings of the party.

Expected, 4/06/2023 – In accordance with the Internal Policy of the Barundi, in particular that governing the Political Parties in Burundi, created in 1959 by the Belgian colonist by suppressing the miryango, traditional political tools.

On Sunday, the Provincial Section of UPRONA organized an activity bringing together the Badasigana (name of the militants of UPRONA) of the locality, on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the victory of UPRONA and the celebration of the reunification of detached wings of this political formation.

Historically, UPRONA is the independence party of Burundi, which later became the sole party of the military dictatorship in Burundi for about forty years (from 1965-66 to 2005).
