The international logistics firm UPS reached an agreement to acquire the Mexican Post officein an operation that has not yet been disclosed and is pending regulatory approval.
“Global supply chains continue to change, the role of Mexico in world trade is growing and the sectors of SMEs and manufacturing are looking for reliable access to the U.S. market,” UPS explained when reporting the acquisition.
Carol Tomé, executive president of the international firm commented that as the process progresses nearshoring“The combination of our businesses will provide customers in Mexico with unprecedented access to global markets with seamless and more efficient service.”

He explained that this agreement has been in the works since 2020 between the two companies and when the acquisition is completed, there will be a comprehensive solution linking parcel and logistics services for the industry.

The transaction is expected to close by year-end, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
UPS had revenues of $91 billion in 2023 from more than 200 countries, where it has 500,000 employees.
