The campaign for the urban local government elections in Tamil Nadu ends at 6 pm today. Candidates are actively involved in final ballot collecting.
In Tamil Nadu, 21 corporations, 138 municipalities and 489 municipalities will go to the polls tomorrow. In this multi-faceted election, the ruling DMK has joined hands with its allies in the last assembly elections. AIADMK is facing elections along with some smaller parties. Parties including BJP, BJP, Temujin, People’s Justice Center, Naam Tamil Party are contesting separately.
A large number of independents have also rallied in an effort to win with the support of the local people. The election campaign, which has been weeding out for more than 10 days, ends today at 6 p.m. Candidates are taking to the streets and engaging in the final round of voting.
The State Election Commission has ordered those who are not voters in the concerned local body and those who have been brought in from outside for election work to leave after 6 pm.
