Namakkal: In the run-up to the urban local body elections, items including electronic recording machines were sent to the polling booths along with police security.
In Namakkal district, urban local body elections are being held today for a total of 439 wards out of a total of 288 wards in 151 wards and 19 town panchayats in five municipalities of Namakkal, Rasipuram, Tiruchengode, Pallipalayam and Kumarapalayam. In Namakkal, in 37 wards, 109 polling booths, in Kumarapalayam, 33 wards, in 73 wards, in Tiruchengode, in 33 wards, 88 polling booths, in Rasipuram, in 27 wards, in 51 wards, in Pallipalayam, in 21 wards, in 44 wards, 365 polling booths have been set up. Similarly, in 19 Town Panchayats, for 288 wards, 324 polling booths have been set up. Recording is happening today. Subsequently, the electronic recording machine required for the polling booths was loaded and dispatched for the recording materials. At the Namakkal Municipal Office, headed by Election Officer and Commissioner Sudha, the task of sending the goods began. In those vehicles, police and officers on security duty went.
