The campaign for the local body elections to be held in Tamil Nadu on Saturday has come to an end. In this situation, the State Election Commission is intensifying preparations for the polls.

The announcement of urban local government elections for 21 corporations, 138 municipalities and 489 municipalities in Tamil Nadu was released on the 26th of last month. The petition began on January 28. With the deadline for applications until February 4, the nominations will be considered on February 5 and the final list will be released on February 7. With just a few days to go before the election, the main parties, from independents to hurricane campaigners, began to campaign.

In this situation, the hurricane campaign that had been going on all over Tamil Nadu for about 2 weeks came to an end at 6 pm. Following this, the State Election Commission has ordered those who are not related to the respective wards to leave. The vote count takes place on February 22nd. Indirect elections will be held on March 4 for 1,298 posts, including mayor and deputy mayor, with local representatives.
