New Delhi: The Army Commander has said that the modern weapons left by the US troops in Afghanistan are coming into Kashmir via Pakistan.
Weapons and surveillance equipment used by US troops in Afghanistan have been seized from recently killed terrorists in the Kashmir border area. In this regard, the Commander of the Security Forces Major General Ajay Chandpuri said:
From the terrorists who were killed trying to infiltrate into Kashmir, American weapons are stuck. These are said to have been used by US troops while in Afghanistan. Currently, there are between 150 and 200 trained terrorists in Kashmir.
Of these, 45 per cent are from Pakistan. Compared to previous years, the number of locals joining the terrorist movement has dropped by a third. Several infiltration attempts by Pakistan in violation of the ceasefire agreement have been thwarted. Thus, peace is prevailing in North Kashmir at present, he said.

Security forces cordoned off the area yesterday morning in Jainpora area of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Our soldiers retaliated for the firing by the hidden terrorists. In this gun battle, two soldiers were killed; One of the terrorists was shot dead.
Meanwhile, Jameela, 12, of Tara village in Sokut-Bagyal in Poonch district, was injured in a landmine blast while grazing near the Line of Control (LoC).
