US authorizes humanitarian financial deals with Taliban

by time news

The US authorities have lifted restrictions on financial transactions with the Taliban (the Taliban movement is banned in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization) carried out for humanitarian purposes. This was reported in a statement on the website of the US Treasury Department.

Now the US government and a number of international humanitarian organizations have the opportunity to conclude deals with the Taliban and the Haqqani Network (banned in the Russian Federation) on the supply of humanitarian supplies, including food, drugs and medical equipment.

International organizations will be able to supply humanitarian products to Afghanistan without fear of sanctions from the American state. Previously, any financial transactions with the Taliban were banned, regardless of their goals.
