Heat, dust and smoke from forest fires in France a few days ago have taken their toll on the band’s frontman. After the concert in Vienna last Wednesday, the one in Prague also had to be cancelled.
After their concert in Vienna, the US rock band Pearl Jam also canceled their performance in Prague planned for Friday evening. This was announced by the event agency Live Nation.
“We’ve always had unforgettable concerts here and we’re very disappointed about that,” the band said. Frontman Eddie Vedder visited a doctor in Prague, but continues to struggle with voice problems. This is the result of his last appearance at an open-air concert in Paris. There, heat, dust and smoke from forest fires in the area would have affected the 57-year-old’s voice.
Pearl Jam was founded in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. The band is a representative of grunge music and, according to their label, has sold more than 85 million albums. (dpa)
