WASHINGTON – Amid a surge in the number of migrants at the border with Mexico, US Border Patrol Chief Chris Magnus has resigned. The White House announced on Saturday evening (local time) that President Joe Biden had accepted the agency chief’s resignation request. Biden thanks Magnus for decades of police work and wishes him well, it said. In a published letter to the President, Magnus wrote that he was handing in his resignation effective immediately.
