FChina is an important market for the American capital investment company Invesco, which is one of the largest of its kind with assets under management of 1.5 trillion dollars. But the People’s Republic has become a problem amid rising tensions with the United States over the issue of Taiwan’s status.
In his answer to the question of whether China is still a good investment location, Invesco’s senior investment strategist, Bernhard Langer, emphasizes an important difference in an interview with the FAZ: “For us as asset managers, the Chinese domestic market is also important in view of the growing middle class interesting for increasing investment needs. We cover this through a joint venture in which we have a 49.9 percent stake.”
