Washington After the British competition authority, the US supervisory authority FTC is also taking concrete steps against the mega takeover of video game maker Activision by Microsoft. The FTC will seek a ban on the $69 billion acquisition in court, a person familiar with the deal told Reuters on Monday. Bloomberg initially reported on it, citing an insider.
The FTC plans to obtain an injunction blocking the transaction pending the agency’s internal decision on the deal, the anonymous insider told the Bloomberg report. A hearing before the agency’s court is scheduled to begin in August.
