On Tuesday (26), the United States competition authority – Federal Trade Commission (FTC), a regulatory agency that acts against anti-competitive commercial practices – filed a lawsuit against Amazon, accusing the company of adopting unfair strategies considered “anti-competitive and unfair to illegally maintain their monopoly” in online commerce. According to a statement from the FTC, the lawsuit is being promoted jointly with 17 American states.
