Turkey provided U.S. officials with a list of congressionally blocked defense trade items that Ankara expects will be exempted.

As the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported in turn, the Congressional delegation, during its visit to the department, “discussed energy, energy security and opportunities for cooperation within the framework of strategic relations between Turkey and the United States.” Also during contacts in Ankara, issues related to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the fight against the terrorist group “Islamic State” (banned in the Russian Federation), were raised, especially in light of the recent terrorist attack in the Moscow region, the topic of anti-terrorism in Syria and Iraq, where Turkey demands from the United States to stop assisting Kurdish organizations designated as terrorist by Ankara.
