US Debt Ceiling Increase Approval Causes Volatility in Investment Market and Affects Gold Prices in India – Latest Updates and Prices for 22 Carat and 24 Carat Gold in Major Indian Cities

The first phase of approval to increase the debt ceiling in the US Congress has brought about a significant change in the investment market. Investment volume and profit margins especially in the bond market have decreased, thus some volatility in investment in gold has been reported.

In response to this, the price of one ounce of gold in the international market fell to 1954 dollars and rose again to 1967 dollars. 10 gm 24 carat gold futures orders fell by 0.35 per cent to Rs 59,990.00 on MCX market today. Similarly, silver prices fell by 0.53 percent to Rs 71,720.

Gold price in the retail market today averaged across India, the price of 10 grams of 22 carat gold fell by Rs 150 to Rs 55,700 today. Meanwhile, 24 carat 10 gm gold price rose by Rs 170 to Rs 60,760.

Also, in the retail market today, the gold price in India rose by Rs 120 to Rs 44,560 per sawan. Silver prices fell by Rs 4,000 to Rs 72,800 on an average across India.
